MMV... ecologically sound development
MMV, concerned about the quality of the environment in the mountains, attaches great importance to the initiatives taken by ski resorts to improve and protect the environment. This the environmental choices made by ski resorts is one of the criteria used in deciding where MMV will develop new structures.
On the initiative of the association, ‘Mountain Riders’, the 2nd Edition of the ‘Green Guide to Ski Resorts’ has been published. This guide details the resorts actions to promote a more ecologically friendly development and allows holiday-makers to choose their resort based on more than just the available services and the kilometers of runs. The vast majority of the resorts in which MMV operates took part in this survey, and shows clearly their implication in this movement. Here are the main themes that caught the attention of the Mountain Riders Association and ours.
Ski resorts that are committed
Transportation
Our resorts organise car-sharing systems or free public transport to reduce pollution. To answer this need, many resort centres are car-free.
Landscape and energy
To preserve the snowy landscapes of our mountains, our resorts always use underground electricity cables; they protect natural spaces, and have energy-saving policies for electricity and water.
Waste disposal
All the resorts have introduced waste recycling, with the installation of collection points, the organization of rubbish collection days on the mountain, or new waste treatment facilities.
Social action
All of these resorts offer price reductions for large families. Concerned about the welfare of the seasonal workers who work in resort and look after you throughout the season, the resorts put in place accommodation and transportation facilities.
They also give people of reduced mobility the chance to enjoy the mountains with infrastructures adapted to their needs.
Promoting an environmental conscience
Because protecting the environment is everybody’s role, the resorts participate actively through the circulation of information on the subject, through guides, conferences, events, or messages to the holidaymakers directly.
Tourisme résponsable la charte MMV
Right from the start, MMV has naturally and consistently committed itself to a responsible and supportive tourism. To respect the environment and measures. L’écogestion environnementale est désormais une nécessité écologique souvent économiquement profitable.
MMV act in multiplying energy saving measures (water, electricity...), by active participation in treatment and in recycling of waste (print on paper recycling, recycling of paper, used batteries, the used oils, material informatique, biodegradable cleaning products...), with responsible economic choices (purchases of products to agriculture in FairTrade, all the constructions of future intergrative norms of eco-construction...).
MMV by participating actively in supportive actions in Burkina Faso, MMV is financing an orphanage and et is mobilized collectively to this humanitarian aid.
