To spend your holidays in Flaine, is to spend your holidays in a unique ski resort, located in Haute-Savoie, between Geneva and Chamonix, in the heart of the domain of the Grand Massif. It faces the Mont Blanc and is perched at 1600 m in altitude (2500 m at the top of the pistes), in the heart of a natural canyon.
Built in the 60's on the mountain hillside, it stands out through its architecture. It was designed by Marcel Breuer and is made up of both functional and linear buildings. Master pieces from Picasso, Dubuffet or Vasarely animate these designer and contemporary buildings
Cars are not allowed here: you can reach all of the shops and access all of the services on foot.
If you spend your holidays in Flaine, you will be able to whizz down 265 km of downhill skiing pistes of all levels (green, blue, red and black pistes). Some pistes are not groomed, which will allow you to try freestyle skiing. Flaine also has a snowpark, called « jampark » for the freestylers.
For the less adventurous of you, the domain of the Grand Massif also offers 207 km of cross-country pistes, of which 13 in Flaine.
The Pierre Carrée ridge, at 1844 m of altitude, offers a nordic space that is the highest and snowiest in the Alps. There are 6,5 km of marked and groomed trails foe beautiful excursions in snowshoes or on foot.
You can also try the acticross as a family. It is a skiing trail with five types of modules (bumps, zigzag, tunnel, etc.). Or simply try out the ice skating.
Excursions with dog sleds, ice quad, driving on ice or helicopter flights are original activities that you will be able to discover in Flaine.
Once your day out in the open air has finished, during your holidays in Flaine, you can relax at the cinema, eat a tartiflette in one of the numerous restaurants in the resort, play billiards or bowling with your friends, or even have a drink in the bar. If you are feeling in need of culture, you can also choose to visit the cultural centre or library.
