The Resort - Val Cenis
Facing the marvellous Vanoise National Park right in the heart of the Haute Maurienne and very well positioned, Val Cenis together with Termignon offer authenticity and modernity. There is maximum snowfall to go with one of the largest cross country skiing resorts in the Alps and some pretty nifty alpine skiing too.
What makes Val Cenis special?
Val Cenis is a charming ski resort comprised of two traditional villages, Lanslebourg and Lanslevillard. They both offer excellent value for money and a good range of skiing for all levels. The atmosphere in the villages is warm and friendly with low-key nightlife, but with enough facilities to keep you busy once the slopes have closed: Ice rink, paragliding, fitness centre, ice-fall climbing (that's climbing up a frozen waterfall to you and me!), climbing wall, dog sledding, disco, cinemas, bars, 19 restaurants including 2 on the slopes, shops, leisure centre (covered swimming pool with fun pool).
Special Dates in Val Cenis
12th-16th January - The Great Odyssy - The top dog-sled mushers in the world gather in Val Cenis for one of the big events of the season.
5th February - Carnival, Mardi Gras comes to Val Cenis
