Renowned for it exceptional snow record and its 300 days of sunshine per year, south-facing Montgenèvre, is part of the 'Milky Way' ski area with over 400km of runs between France and Italy. A resort where you can try all snow sports, but also a village that blends tradition and modernity and which has plenty going on.

Half-pipe
It seems that it's best to know how to ride if you're going to take off in the half-pipe, which is a minimum requirement if you're going to progress and have fun. This much is clear too, since you shouldn't tightrope walk until you know how to put one foot in front of the other.

Secure free ride area
A secure freeride area is also available in the Les Gondrans sector. As well as a fun course to give you a feel of what boardercross is like, you can learn your first tricks here using expert instructions in three languages. Top

Set at an altitude of 1860 metres, Montgenèvre village – which dates back to antiquity – has preserved its mountain atmosphere whilst enjoying the exceptional sunny Mediterranean climate (300 days sunshine each year): pure and invigorating air, floral meadows, mountain lakes, streams and forests for nature lovers and anyone who appreciates beautiful landscapes.

Via ferrata to discover the joy of verticality Via ferrata pour découvrir les joies de la verticale Canyoning with jumps and toboggans

Montgenèvre created a Bike Park which now covers an area culminating at 2760 m high down to 1860 m. Inaugurated on le 1st July 2006, the Bike Park includes 8 permanent downhill trails, 3 fun areas and 2 free-ride areas.

Forest acrobatics : A suitable dream course for everyone, in order to go beyond one's limits and get some oxygen from the top of the trees. Hop from a larch tree to another thanks to tyrolean traverses, monkey ropes, lianas... 2.30 hours of sheer emotion and challenge !! alltogether 65 games accessible to all from 6 to 75 years old. Unique : "tyrolean sensation", a serie of 13 tyrolean games, only for the reckless ones... Top


› For sports lovers

Montgenèvre is one of the 2 resorts of the « Hautes-alpes » with a golf course. At 1860 m high in a larch forest, its atmosphere is particularly unusual and pleasant. Created in 1989, the 3200-m mountain golf course includes a 9-hole par 36, a 25-position driving range. Furthermore Montgenèvre has an extra 9-hole compact course with a put-and-pitch green devoted exclusively to practice and instruction. Fishing : Moreover, initiation and expert training courses or ½ day private lessons are organised at all 3 three lakes of Montgenèvre, the surrounding rivers and mountain lakes. For a family outing, high altitude campsites on lakesides are organized. Open air swiming-pool with a 27° heated water : 25m long, 12 m wide and 2,5 m deep with a diving board and a paddling pool for children. Aqua-gym and swimming lessons. 8 tennis courts, Every week, tournaments are organized open to all. Horse riding : Departing from les Alberts, accompanied treks with a qualified guide and rides into the Clarée valley are organized for beginners and experienced riders, as well as training courses in rings. Donkey hire and rekau

In the heart of the village and near the water leisure base : a toboggan track, 450 m long, is open to younger children and their elder ready for a thrilling downhill slide.

Located on the reconverted ice-skating rink area, this new leisure space offers 3 games including one : a huge castle 14m x 5m as well as a little chalet with tables and chairs. Little ones can jump, slide and bounce. Top

Hiking:
- « Au pays d'Emilie Carles et de la soupe aux herbes sauvages » : 2h of walking, to understand the rural life in « la vallée de la Clarée », the place of humains in their enviironnement, and to discover the architectural heritage.
- « Au fil des paysages à Montgenèvre » : 2h of walking to discover, through a reading, the landscapes, the history of Montgenèvre, between nature, geology, architectural heritage, and the evolution of space and traditions.
