Tignes is a ski resort located in the Haute Tarentaise, in Savoie. Perched at 2000 m in altitude, it has two main sites: Tignes-le-Lac and Tignes-Val-Claret. It is internationally renowned due to its skiing domain and that of Val-d'Isère, better known under the name of Espace Killy.
On the cultural side, the most well-known building in Tignes, is the Chevril Barrage, dating back to 1952 and 180 m high; it is decorated with a huge fresque on the non-immersed side of the barrage. However, it is hardly visible today.
The skiable domaine, Espace Killy offers 300 km of alpine skiing pistes, from levels green to black. 40 km of cross-country pistes are also available. You can also enjoy these walks wearing snowshoes.
Snowpark, glisspark and ice rink await you.
During your winter holidays in Tignes, you will be able to try out lots of other activities: scuba diving beneath the ice, driving on ice, driving a snowmobile, dog sleds, the ice cascade, rock climbing, snowkiting, snake gliss, bungee trampoline, mountain biking on the snow, heliskiing, a helicopter ride and paragliding.
And that's not all! Once your day has come to an end, there will be numerous events awaiting you, such as having a drink in a bar, or eating in one of the numerous restaurants (typical, altitude, brasseries, etc.).
