Why take out insurance? Key questions

Why take out insurance if you offer COVID reimbursement?

The reimbursement cover applies if, in the event of lockdown for health reasons, you are unable to leave your place of residence and/or we are unable to accommodate you. This cover is automatic: you do not need to do anything at the time of booking.

Insurance is an option that you must take out when you make your booking. It allows you to be reimbursed if you request it, provided that the cancellation conditions set out in the contract are met (reimbursement excluding insurance premium).

Vac'Assur therefore covers you BEFORE your stay (in the event of cancellation) and DURING your stay (accident, repatriation, interruption of activities, etc.).

How much does the insurance cost?

Vac'Assur will cost you approximately 4 to 5% of the total price of your holiday. All rates and conditions are available below.

If I decide to take out insurance, do all participants in the holiday have to be insured?

Yes, all participants must make the same choice, whether you decide to take out insurance or not.

Can I decide to take out insurance after booking the holiday?

No, insurance must be taken out at the time of booking.

The rates shown below are those of VACASSUR and apply to all participants listed on the booking form. These rates vary depending on the price bracket of the booking amount. If services are added to the booking at a later date, the price of the insurance will be adjusted, if necessary, according to the new total amount of the holiday.

 What to do if you are forced to cancel your trip


You or a family member must notify MMV as quickly as possible of your cancellation as soon as the insured event preventing your departure occurs.
After reporting your cancellation to MMV, you must file a claim with the insurance company within 5 working days of the date of the incident.

Need assistance during your trip


To benefit from the cover provided by the policy (personal assistance, medical expenses, replacement driver, search and rescue costs, death assistance, legal assistance), you must immediately contact or have a third party contact the insurance company, (on 01 55 98 88 21, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week) as soon as your situation suggests that expenses covered by the policy may be incurred, remembering to quote your insurance policy number. Please note that without prior notification, your medical file cannot be processed.

 

You have interrupted your activities or your stay

 

Following the occurrence of an event covered by the policy, you will be reimbursed for land-based services (accommodation/activity costs already paid for and not used, excluding transport) on a pro rata basis.

  • PLEASE NOTE: services that have not been agreed in advance by the insurance company or that have not been organised by the insurance company will not be eligible for any reimbursement or compensation.
  • PLEASE NOTE: services that have not been taken out with MMV will not be eligible for any reimbursement or compensation from the insurance company.

 

Right of withdrawal

Please note that activities related to the organisation and sale of trips or stays on a specific date or during a specific period are not subject to the 7-day withdrawal period applicable to distance selling.
